TAD EAST LETTERS TO PARENTS

Celebrating Maths Project

Take part and have fun playing games to help your child with Maths.  Designed by Gareth Metcalfe, a Primary Maths specialist, the project is aimed at ages 4-5, 6-7 and 8+ .

The Celebrating Maths Project is a series of three short videos written to give parents a range of mathematical games and puzzles to play with their children.

The first video, for parents of children aged 4-5, gives ideas for finding maths in everyday situations. The second and third videos, for ages 6-7 and 8+, give strategy games that can be played with simple equipment and an active mind!

Click on the link below and choose the video for your child's age group, watch and get some simple yet brilliant ideas for practising maths, developing a feel for number and playing games.

There is also a letter from Gareth with more information.

You don't need much equipment, although a set of dominoes would be useful.  Ask your child's teacher, if you need some.

Click on the link below to find 3 short videos explaining the activities.
